May 21st at "The Bird"

**I put this picture in to show how different our canyon was this time last year! Hiking was possible to do at 9,000 ft and you can see, hardly any snow left! This year were open for skiing until AT LEAST June 15th and still have over a 100 inch base. We recieved 8 inches of snow on June 4th and have more in our forecast. We have surpassed the 600 inch mark for total snowfall on the year! I wont be able to hike for awhile. Again click on the picture if youd like to see it larger.**

Little Cottonwood Canyon
I finally remembered to bring my camera for the drive up so I could take pictures of how full the creek was with all our snow melt, and also get some shots of the 2 waterfalls. However, the day I finally brought it we also recieved 18 inches of snow. I put some videos at the bottom so you can see and hear how fast our little creek is running.
The creek runs from Alta, through our resort and hugs the canyon road all the way out. This is our drinking water in Utah, therefore its a watershed meaning no dogs, camping, or littering.

Waterfall at the bottom of the canyon. This is frozen during the winter
and you'll see people "ice climbing" on it during those months

Here you can see the snow line at about 7,500 ft

This is the upper part of resort, behind our parking lot

the mtn with plenty of snow to ski on still

our pond iced over, moose can't visit us yet
