FINALLY...DOG LAKE

I finally arrived to Dog Lake. After attempting to reach on June 1st and June 15th, I made it June 29th. The first attempt we hiked through snow with no sign of a trail for 2 hours, we learned that we were only 10 minutes away from the lake when we decided to turn back around. Everything is finally bloomed and the grass is as high as my waist with wildflowers everywhere. Easy hike and i plan on camping here in the next couple weeks.
Dog Lake got its name from so many people bringing their dogs up long ago. Now you can only bring dogs to the lake via the Mill Creek Trailhead, not the Butler Fork which I took. Dog Lake sits at 8,740 feet in elevation

Everything finally bloomed

all of this was a snow field when I attempted this hike 2 and 4 weeks prior.

Mill Creek Canyon

This sign was buried under snow, hence why we couldn't find the lake 4 weeks ago.

this side of the mountain reminded me of the San Bernadino mountains

FINALLY!!

can still see snow in the shadows
crystal clear water thanks to the watershed restriction
